Trains on the Web - Railfan Recommendations

The United States is full of locations to railfan, from the great Pacific Northwest, to the Arizona Desert, to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, to the Heartland, to the east coast, numerous locations exist to railfan. Railfans by nature like to travel to new and exciting locations, exploring the great United States through railfanning. But, unless we travel all the time, we cannot be experts on all areas in the country. Railfan Recommendations is here to help anyone looking for new railfan locations, sometimes not the most popular places, but locations that offer decent photo oppurtunities and plenty of rail traffic and/or diversity. If you know of a location you would like to have listed, either a web site, or your own Railfan Recommendation, contact me at erben22@mentalfusion.com and we can put one together. Other railfans will appreciate your input.

Railfan Recommendations from Trains on the Web

Fremont, NE - Fremont is a city located 25 miles west of Omaha along the UP Council Bluffs Sub. The UP also interchanged (now a straight through connection) with the CNW Chicago Mainline in Fremont up until the UP's aqusition of the CNW. The BNSF's (ex-BN) Sioux City Line crosses over the UP in town also, allowing a wide variety of power from Pumpkins, MAC's, and Warbonnets to be seen along with UP Yellow.
